Awesome Jack-O-Lanterns

Ghostly Pumpkins

pumpkins1

Want to make a different type of jack-o-lantern this year? Ghost pumpkins are a great idea, and sooo easy. Just look how cute they are next to a regular old jack-o-lantern. Here’s how:

  1. Start by cutting a hole in the bottom of the pumpkin, then hollow the pumpkin out just like normal.
  2. Then put the plug back in the bottom, and then paint the entire thing white with craft paint. Let it dry completely. Repeat if you can see through the paint in any places.
  3. Use a pencil to sketch two ovals for eyes and a misshapen long oval for the mouth.
  4. Use a carving knife to cut the holes. Be careful not the chip any of the paint around the eyes and mouth, while cutting.
  5. Then, put a tea-light in it and watch it glow!

Why do I torture my dog?

Okay, it’s not really torturing her. I just like to dress her in costumes, because she looks so cute. Also, because I don’t have any kids to dress up so… Daisy gets to dress up.

Daisy bug

Her Lady Bug Costume, she really hated this one.

Daisy hula

Daisy as a hula girl! So cute and she didn’t really mind it.

Daisy bunny

And at Easter she got to be a bunny, all she wanted was to get those ears off so she could play with them.

So these are just a few of my ideas for pet costumes. Sorry some of the pictures are not the best.

This year she is going to be a pumpkin ( just a Pumpkin t-shirt from Target). Best of all, it is glow-in-the-dark, and she likes t-shirts.

More Easy Adult Costumes

halloween

  • Prisoner– Bright orange scrubs work great for this, just add some black numbers to the back and the pockets.
  • Black Cat– This costume is pretty flexible, you can wear a black party dress, or some black tights and and form fitting black shirt. Even a set of black scrubs would work. Then, find something for the tail (a black flashy boa works great. Paint on a black nose and some whiskers. Add a headband with pointy ears (maybe use construction paper to make your own ears) to complete the costume!
  • Tourist– Wear a pair of khaki’s and a tropical print shirt. Accent with sunglasses, a camera around the neck, a straw hat, and maybe a fanny pack. Then. finish the outfit with a pair of white tennis shoes. If you are wearing shorts it is funny to put really tall black sorts with them.
  • Copy Cat– This is not really a “cat” it means try to look and dress just like someone you know who will be at the same event.
  • Secret Agent– Black suit, sun glasses, and a mysterious black hat are about all you need. Then just play with your cell phone and act obscure all night.
  • Diva Rockstar–  Number one rule for this outfit is wild hair, maybe a wig or maybe use some temporary hair color to put streaks in your hair. Then wear a lot of make-up and probably some fake eyelashes. Then wear something like a black vest over a white button up shirt and a plaid school girl skirt. Then, wear knee high socks and platform shoes. Top this outfit off with a pair of bi sunglasses.
  • Doctor– This one is too easy all you need are some light green scrubs (the the surgeon scrubs) and a medical paper hat. Then just wear some tennis shoes and a stethoscope, if you can find someone to borrow one from.

Adult Halloween Party Ideas

Haunted House

Why should kids have all the fun?

Adults are still able to have parties and fun… they just don’t always. It’s time for that to change. Just because we don’t go trick-or-treating doesn’t rule out Halloween fun for us! Here are some great Halloween Party Ideas:

  1. If you live on a farm… do a bon-fire and hay-ride. There are endless opertunities with that… campfire stories, music, masked chainsaw guys on the hay-ride. Whoo hoo!
  2. Costume Parties are always fun. You can even make theme parties like a ghoulish theme, famous people theme, Greek theme etc.
  3. Spooky Parties- Decorate with skulls, spider webs, ghost etc. Do some cool lighting effects with fog and strobe lights.
  4. Haunted House. Rent an old run down house and turn it into a haunted house to host your Halloween Party.

Easy Adult Costume Ideas

Costumes aren’t just for kids anymore.

It’s getting close to Halloween so it’s time to go through your closet and come up with a costume. Whatever it’s for, costumes can be a lot of fun. Come up with something that you like or something that compliments you personality. For example, if you really like to joke around, do a funny costume.

Don’t want to spend a lot of money on something that you will probably only wear a couple of times? Make your own costume. Here are some easy do-it-yourself ideas:

  1. ScarecrowScarecrow– Use an old set of sweats by cutting jagged edges on the arms, legs and bottom of top. Tie a rope around the waist, bottom of the legs, and the end of the arms. Use an old hat to glue some yellow yarn in the inside for hair. Add some yellow yarn inside the leg and arm holes. Add a little paint to your face and your all set.
  2. ghostGhost– Grab an old white sheet, drape it over your body, and mark hole for the eyes. Then cut little holes to peek through. Then draw a misshapen oblong mouth with a black magic marker and fill in the circle completely.
  3. witch1Witch– Grab an old black dress and wrap an old shawl around your shoulders. Wear a pair of pointy boots and funky stripped socks on your feet. Then grab an inexpensive black witch hat at the market. Top it off with a musty green face paint, and some fake warts. Maybe even find an old broom to carry with you!
  4. mummyMummy– Wrap your self in toilet paper or gauze… or maybe get someone else to wrap you up. This is too easy!     Then just wear a pair of white tennis shoes and socks. Don’t forget to leave room to peek out and holes for your pinkies.
  5. dogSpotted Dog– Wear some white sweats, with big black spots colored on it. Add a black dot on your nose, and a thick piece of white rope for a tail. Then, put some floppy ears (made of old socks or just construction paper) on a head band, and you are ready to go!
  6. cowboyCowboy/Cowgirl– Find some tight blue-jeans and an old western shirt for the main part of costume. Then accessorize with a big cowboy hat, boots, and a belt with a big buckle. If you want to go all out carry a rope to wrangle your friends with. Maybe, add a bandanna or a leather vest for some extra pizazz, or even a badge to be the sheriff.
